VERNet members submit requests for additional infrastructure and services

As VERNet nears the end of the initial build phase, more and more of its members are approaching them to make additions to the VERN in order to provide additional services.
The new work ranges from new fibre builds, installation of additional WDM equipment to increase service capacity from 1Gbps to 10Gbps, as well as provisioning additional 1Gbps services along existing infrastructure.
The new infrastructure will see the VERN network expand further throughout metropolitan Melbourne.
During the process to complete the new work VERNet will engage with its members in providing the new services.
VERNet envisages the commencement of some of this new work to be in quarter 1 of 2009.
